ABOUT US — Lewis & Clark Timber Frames
Lewis & Clark Timber Frames is based in the Hoosick Valley with deep roots in the Adirondacks, Lake George, and Southern Vermont. We’re a small, skilled team that believes in honest craftsmanship, clear communication, and timber frames built to last for generations.
I completed my carpenters union apprenticeship, earned my degree through the Carpenters Union and Alfred State, and worked as a journeyman carpenter across commercial construction, heavy highway, framing, and drywall. I come from three generations of woodworkers, and that foundation shaped the way I build today.
After years in commercial and residential construction — including high‑end residential work and cabinet making — I shifted my focus fully to timber framing. Today, we build with an environmentally conscious mindset, using traditional joinery, premium timbers, and methods that respect the land and reduce waste wherever possible.
OUR CRAFT
Lewis & Clark Timber Frames is built on a lifetime in the trades.
Today, every frame is cut by hand using traditional joinery and premium timbers, built to last for generations. We build with an environmentally conscious mindset, choosing materials and methods that respect the land and reduce waste wherever possible.
Every home, barn, pavilion, or porch reflects a commitment to craftsmanship, honesty, and sustainable building practices.

C. Perkins
This firm constructed a timber frame barn specially designed to hold and display works of art. The two story, 30 by 16 foot building, a king truss structure without any plates, just elaborate, finely cut mortise and tenon joints for heavy pine posts and beams, is handsome and tight.
The firm was communicative, eager for feedback, and clearly determined to be both thorough and timely in completion. This was also a fun outfit to work with.

Asa and his team did incredible work on our old barn, and did so within historical preservation guidelines. He was professional, kind, trustworthy, honest, and maintained communication through every step of the project. I HIGHLY recommend this professional family business to anyone.

Our family’s experience with Asa and L&C Timber Frames was flawless from start to finish. Their work is truly a form of art. They designed and installed the frame for an addition to our house and we have zero regrets. We are so happy we didn’t go with traditional construction! The process was simple, they were on site 1 week and they were a pleasure to work with and have around!
